The Albanian Alps and Berat Blue Light: A Photo Journal
I met Arthur in a hostel in Siargao in the Philippines. Like me, Arthur has a wandering spirit and an insatiable desire to see, explore, and experience the world. While his day job is far removed from the travel photography that he clearly has a gift for, I asked him if I could feature his photos on this platform.
When Arthur and I did a boat trip together in the Philippines (and later suffered from severe food poisoning together), he came back with portraits of moments I had completely overlooked. As a writer, I'm constantly asking questions or seeking to understand the world. Travel photography reminds me that we don't have to have all of the answers to appreciate what is right in front of us.
"In June, I spent three weeks in Albania. Like a few other places I've visited, I chose to go based solely on word of mouth. I'd heard so many great things about Albania that I decided to experience it for myself.
It came as no surprise that I absolutely loved it. Albania is a small yet diverse country, with stunning mountains in the north and beautiful beaches in the south. The cost of living is low, the locals are incredibly friendly, and with Greek and Italian influences in the cuisine, you really can't go wrong."
You can see more of Arthur's photos from Morocco here or follow along with his travels on Instagram.
